Hazardous Material Storage buildings

2018 transportation hazardous material storage building 900 x 600

GFS’ Industrial Hazardous Material Storage Buildings are portable, fire-rated buildings used for the safe storage of hazardous materials and waste.

Hazardous Material Storage Buildings from Global Finishing Solutions® (GFS) — sometimes referred to as “Paint Kitchens” — provide a safe, code-compliant environment for storing large amounts of paint and other chemicals. They also double as a safe area for mixing and pumping paint.

Precision engineered and manufactured with durable materials, GFS Hazardous Material Storage Buildings are portable and designed for indoor or outdoor applications.

Explosion Prevention & Safety

Hazardous Material Storage Buildings are required for manufacturers and businesses that need to safely store large amounts of paint or other hazardous materials. They can also be used as a safe area for mixing and pumping paint. Designed with excellent structural support, explosion-proof incandescent lighting and external grounding to prevent static ignition, Hazardous Material Storage Buildings minimize the risk of explosion and contain potential spills to keep your employees, building and investments safe.

Durable Materials & Construction

Built to last, the ceiling and walls of GFS Hazardous Material Storage Buildings are reinforced with steel studs and joists that are lined with multiple layers of gypsum board and a final sheeting of white pre-coated, 18-gauge steel panels inside and out. For outdoor applications, GFS Hazardous Material Storage Buildings are built to meet the applicable code requirements for wind, snow and seismic loads, and can incorporate custom heating and air conditioning systems.

Sump & Spill Containment

The sump system is made of liquid-tight, heavy-gauge sheet steel, and supported by exterior welded steel risers for easy leak inspection. Spills enter the spill containment tray through 1-inch-thick, black painted steel grating that runs the entire length of the enclosure and is supported by 6-inch steel beams for added stability.
